Post-rock is a well-established term. There is a page on wikipedia. It
defines both waves of music that are covered by this term. And it's not
the first musical term to contain the prefix 'post'. The term
'postpunk' has been used for 25 years and nobody has a problem with it
(see the Joy Division movie 'Control' for a crowning aesthetic
definition). post-war
20th century experimental music also has its own category (as proven by
music school texts such as 'Music Since 1945').
Anyway I didn't ask what anyone thought of the term. One might as well
say what does the term 'goth' have to do with either a Germanic tribe
or a form of European architecture. Not very much.
I asked what people thought of the music, and how it might fit into the
current idea of a dark music aesthetic.
That's all. There seems to be no reason to respond unless 1) you've
heard the music or 2) the idea of this newer stuff intrigues you, and
you might like to hear it, because it's similar to things you've heard
in the past.
