Forgive me for digging up old dirt... but isn't H.Khan the place to which one semi-frequent PghGoth poster serruptitiously referred as "swarthy"?  If so, the general consensus back then was that it was a pretty cool place.

As for the smoke level... Knowing nothing about the layout of the place, mind you--I can tell you that a lot of the smoke-congestion will be determined by the weather and atmospheric pressure on a given day.  Being asthmatic, when I used to dj once a month at the hookah lounge in StClg, I noticed that rainy, low-pressure days were the worst because the smoke just hung in air, usually around eye level. On clear, high-pressure days, it would dissipate much more quickly.  It will also have to do with their policy on allowing cigarette smoke.  Cigs are much harsher smoke, which takes more to dissipate.  I could probably dj in a hookah-only establishment without too many problems, but the cigs kill me every time.  

Attendees will also want to avoid wearing light coloured clothing (for you crazy white goths), as the charcoal fallout gets all over EVERYTHING and is difficult to clean.  Anyway, if its the venue I'm thinking Joe Presley will probably be able to shed some light on things... 

The real question should be: DO THEY SERVE MIDDLE EASTERN FOOD?  Turkish coffee, falafel and schwarma would be a nice way to start off the night.
