Lycia was the national act, not Vampire Nation. (who have been thwarted
by the Man)
Lycia already had a track record with Projekt, etc at the time.
Kelly's chronology clearly indicates that I brought the first national
G/I act to Laga, as well as 3 of the first 4 national G/I acts. Around
that time (95-97) there were also several other places I did those kind
of shows, such as Xymox & Switchblade @ the Brew House, Christian Death
& Faith & the Muse @ Birmingham Gallery, Human Drama @ the old Club
Stratus, Mace with Don Cab @ ORI @ Club Stratus, Lycia @ Lascaux
Gallery and Thanatos @ Beehive (with Fred Nation's assistance), New
Creatures & An April March @ Beehive, Death in June/Boyd Rice @ Synod
Hall, and many more. That was quite a fertile period. Some of it is
documented
in Jason Lambert's old zine, Third Nail.
And yet, incredibly, I am actually doing MORE shows now than I was
then. (not necessarily G/I ones, but averaging about 20 per month right
now). And more shows are happening overall, whether I'm doing them or
not.
Anyway, thanks Kelly for that timeline!
