There's Oakland service as late as about 1:15, depending on which bus
you're riding. Oakland isn't really a major center of activity, at
least as far as late-night entertainment goes, compared to the South
Side or the Strip.
But, yes, public transportation kind of sucks here. There's a lot of
debate over who's at fault for this; Port Authority, the city, or the
schools. Or the geography. But it's a shame you can't even hail a
damn cab.
> ps. Hey Rick, can you point out any beer meccas in that city of yours besides FatHead's and ChurchBrew??? I hear there's a microbrewpub in Lawrenceville....
FatHead's is a beer mecca? I didn't know. As far as selection goes,
a lot of beer snobs like The Sharp Edge, which specializes in Belgians
and also has good food; or the unpretentious D'z in Regent Square,
with its amazing "Beer Cave" (and they also serve a mean hot dog or
veggie dog).
You unfortunately won't find a lot of brewing going on in the city.
Besides Church Brew Works, there's East End Brewing Company... and of
course Iron City and Penn Brewery.
