The church is now the Sphinx Cafe. I didn't know it
was abandoned because Lisa, the violinist for Chuck
Owston & Bonfire Night, had mentioned the venue about
a month ago. Apparantly Josh, from Narse, had played
there with other gigs.
In any case, Sphinx Cafe opened about six weeks ago.
It's a hookah lounge that tries to be authentic to
what you would find in Egypt. Since it's run by
egyptians, I'm willing to trust that they've hit the
mark.
The manager and the VP that I met were really cool.
Also their servers were very courteous. It turns out
that one of them was going to go to the show but had
to work.

Thank you. It was very easy to write because it's
true. This show was truly a group effort that
succeeded only because of how awesome the scene is in
this town. I forgot to mention that there were a lot
of people in the scene who gave very helpful
suggestions and were kind enough to answer questions
about what they like, don't like, how they heard about
the show, what bands they would like to see, etc. I
may not have been able to act on all the suggestions,
but I'm definitely considering them for the future.
There will definitely be future shows. There are
already some that are in the works; we just have to
finalize the details. Because of how awesome this show
turned out, we're going to have a lot of credibility
with other venues and bands. It really is because of
you guys that this is happening.
