This Saturday, DJ Badtz returns to Ceremony! What can you expect
(other than that he will, bizarrely, refer to himself in the third
person)?
If you've heard me before, you know the style: balance danceclub
beatmixing with a song-oriented approach to keep the flow going
without getting repetitive. Plenty of classics peppered with requests
and the very best new stuff I've heard. Mostly dance and EBM, but I
get bored if that's all I play.
I've been very into Rotersand and digging Combichrist lately. A solo
artist called Curiosity who says she makes "industrial jazz" will
really appeal to Dresden Dolls fans. A new band called Observe &
Control has been getting a ton of good press, and I can see why--
they're on an independent label now but I think they're going to
explode; they make me think of early Assemblage 23 with some
guitar-based tracks.
I plan to have some "mini-CD" mixes to give away, sort of teasers for
something to come; only a few, though, so show up early and ask if you
want one. Besides, that's when the drink specials are!
Be seeing you,
Brian (aka DJ Badtz)
