EXP is an EXPerimental band fronted by Paris, and started in 1992. 
Experimentation that refuses boundaries ­ up from these uncharted roots 
comes EXP. Paris joined forces with writer/performer Ryan Gaumer, 
artist/vocalist Doriandra,and bassist Rozz Williams, jazz guru Ace Farren 
Ford and drummers Justin Bennett and Ignacio Segovia to create a fusion of 
artistic endeavors. A mix of experimental music and theatrical movement in 
a sensory explosion EXP began in 1993 with recordings made in subterranean 
tunnels at the ocean. Paris and Ryan used the sounds for the soundtrack of 
Unnatural Habitat, a one-time multimedia assault at a Gnostic church in Los 
Angeles. Following that, Paris collaborated with drummer Christian Omar 
Madrigal Izzo, bassist Mishek Smith, and exotic chanteuse Doriandra. The 
troupe did a series of successful West Coast shows incorporating the 
chilling sounds of Brian Carlson on a huge steel cello and the bloody 
dissection of a mule carcass by a crazed Dean X. In 1994, the band 
hearalded three songs for compilation recordings: Neuro on the compilation 
Gothik; A Saucerful of Secrets on the compilation Saucerful of Pink; and 
Red on the compilation Ego Tripp. In addition,they have recorded "Yulungu," 
on a Dead Can Dance tribute, and a track on the Merry Maladies compilation 
by Erik Christides.
