That is a sad turn of events. Laga was a really great space.
$2500 for a newly rennovated 3 BR in the heart of Pitt campus doesn't sound
too steep though- I have 3 Duquesne friends who pay about that for their 2
BR apartment right near Duquesne. Is the middle of Oakland on Forbes usually
cheaper? I have no idea what standard pricing is around there.
Honestly, if it's renovated with the correct amount of soundproofing, I
can't imagine the tenants would have too many problems with noise. A lot of
my friends live above bars and small clubs, and they don't have many
problems with noise, unless there's a live band who wants to practice during
the day and thinks they can be as loud as they want since they're the only
ones there. :) Now, the drunken loitering people might be a problem, but
honestly, that's what bouncers are sometimes there for. There's a nice
bouncer at the bar across the street from my apartment who shuffles them
away or quiets them down when the partons start getting loud while smoking.
