interviewing famous people

I've interviewed DEVO, GG Allin, Lisa Suckdog, Bruce Conner, Terrence 
McKenna, The Maggots, Arkansaw Man, Steve Parr, Wild Nixons and others. I never had 
any questions planned. We usually started joking around. Libations helped 
(except for GG, was incarcerated).

My influence was the early INTERVIEW magazines; the Warhol style of turning 
on the tape recorder and chatting as if one was at a party. If an interviewee 
gets angry at you, GREAT; the interview gets dramatic... Just kick it. Like 
radio, the nemesis of an interview is not stupidity, but dead air.
