i figured it was pushed enough, who doesn't know about it already.
no offense against rasputina, they are great and i would have liked to
have done their show again (hmmm....) but
anyone who picks rasputina *over* the fall/new model army is an idiot,
i mean come on.
btw the 'legendary goth' stature of the brew house actually applies
to the space 101 gallery, where it was possible to do some shows before
the iac garage space theater was realized.
my exploits there included:
industrial artists crawl unit & scot jenerik in 95
switchblade symphony / mindless faith in 97 (when vampire nation smoked
it up), xymox / this ascension / lowsunday in 97
lydia lunch's spoken word friend vanessa skantze (lydia was there)
among other nongoth things, such as the release party for the first
storm & stress record.
alterna-happenings there go back to the late 80s, when postpunkers
carsickness changed their name to 'inside the big clock' because they
played there when it was still just pretty much an artists squat.
once they started working up the iac garage as a theater, i did a
series of stuff there immediately after the mit closed in jan - mar 2002.
some might remember julie doiron, kyle fischer, bardo pond, zbigniew
karkowski, etc. nothing goth though.
